Reflecting on a Season of 11 a Side Success
As we look towards the 2025/26 season (and preparations are well underway across the club) we’ve taken a moment out to reflect on a truly remarkable 2024/25 season for our 11 a side teams across the club.
U15s Blues - League Champions
The U15 blues celebrate league success.
The U15 Blues became League Champions after missing out on promotion by just 2 points in the previous season. Across all of their 34 games this season, the U15s blues scored an impressive 193 goals.
Every single player on the team (yes, that includes the keeper) scored over the course of the season.
Coach, John Lees, enters his 10th season with this team in 2025/26, as they look to build on the success of last season.
U15s Yellows - Cup Winners
Adding to the success at the U15 age group last season were the Yellows.
The U15 Yellows suffered relegation in the season prior but last season went on to rebuild, finish second and earn promotion. In addition, they won the League Cup!
U14s Blues - Cup Winners
It was a remarkably similar story for last season’s U14s Blues too, who also suffered relegation in the 2023/24 season. Much like the Yellows in the age group above, the U14 blues went on to finish second in the league, win the League Cup and secure promotion in a fantastic season of football.
U13s Blues - Promotion
The first season at 11 a side can prove transitional for many teams as they adapt to the format. But not for the U13s Blues who, in their first season at 11 a side, went on to secure promotion, finishing in second place in the league.
Men’s Senior First Team - Promotion
The men’s senior first team enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 season as well. An excellent cup run saw them make the semi final, just narrowly losing out on a place in the final.
But most notably, the team also secured promotion with three games to spare.
A Season of Success
Our club Chairman, John Lees, comments,
“Across the club, from U7s right through to Vets, across boys, girls, men and women, we’ve had many reasons to celebrate this season. Our 11 a side successes are reflective of a lot of hard work and commitment from players, volunteers and coaches.
On a personal note, 2025/26 will be my 10th season coaching what will be the U16 Blues, so to enter this season off the back of a league win really is something special.
A massive well done to the players, coaches and the countless volunteers across the club for a fantastic season.”
